7s League 2023-2024 Final Results
Congratulations to our Sevens Grand Final winner and League Champion: Isaac Jeffares with his Devil Rats!
The Cup Grand Final was played between Abyssal Kraken BBFC (Dark Elves) and the Devil Rats (Skaven). In what had threatened to be a close game, the Skaven team won with a decisive 2-0 victory (1-0 cas) over the Dark Elves.
After an early advantage, the Dark Elves could not capitalise on some early crowd surf opportunities and the Skaven went in for an easy 1 TD lead.
The Abyssal Kraken then received, and attempted to equalise before the half time break. However, they failed to make the most of their knock downs and could not remove any of those pesky rats. And then, even worse, began to fail dodges at critical times.
The Devil Rats made the most of their new Rat Ogre’s prehensile tail, and their line rat with Shadowing to really put the dice pressure on.
To their credit the Rats made the most of every opportunity and never let the Dark Elves back into the game.
Well played and a deserving league win to Isaac, congratulations again!
In our 3rd and 4th playoff in the other final match, we had an all Chaos match up between Khorn, represented by Benjamin C coaching the “Relentless Eclipse of Blood’s Embrace” and Nurgle, represented by Brad coaching “On the 7th day of Nurglemas, the plague god gave to me”. (Both of these coaches trying their best to challenge the league spreadsheet’s name field maximum character count..)
In a result that I am sure please both of their Chaos deities, the game was a zero all draw, with three casualties to the Khorn side. Blood for the Blood God, and etcetera.
